Salóme's career spans a long period, which the artist paused for over 30 years  to have six children. She has practiced her art in three countries,  Iceland, Spain and Sweden and attracted attention for their methods and approaches.

Salóme's use of seaweed and other seaweed in works began in Flatey in Breiðafjörður in the seventies and the artist has developed her technique and imagery to this day.
