A Cold War Reykjavík child is a label that has produced a great many productive artists that have made their mark on the Icelandic Cuture and Art scene.
Reykjavík was a dynamic place to grow up at the time and the post-war era was greatly influenced by the presence of an American Naval Base in the neighboring town of Keflavík.

"Turn on the light" moved to Húsin á Eyrarbakki and now also to www.bakkastofa.com in the performance of the parents Valgeir and Vigdís Vala.
It was a bright and beautiful moment when Valgeir and I came to Húsið, Byggðasafn Árnesinga in the twilight yesterday where the Selfosskirkja Choir had gathered. The director of the museum, Lýður Pálsson, who is a member of this choir, invited his singing friends to a time together and Valgeir and I to a singing and story time.
The choir had recently received the notes of this wonderful song which he intends to perform at the upcoming festival under the direction of Ester Ólafsdóttir. Yesterday's opportunity was used for a performance by an author who played guitar strings and sang along.
The day before, the Bakkastofu family went to Studíó Paradís. There the owner of the studio, Jóhann Ásmundsson bass player and Messoforte genius recorded the song with Valgeir and Vigdís Vala with a simple guitar playing by VG and some bass pieces
