Ásta Kristrún is a pioneer in study counseling in Iceland and built up the Study Counseling of the University of Iceland during the 18 years she worked as its director.

Ásta Kristrún has a long and extensive experience of working with students at all school levels who want to improve their academic results. She developed in that work the method of  Nemanet - the software  based on.

It takes into account how the student can maximize his / her success on the basis of purposeful work that promotes understanding and skills in sharing his / her knowledge and linking it to other areas of knowledge.

Ásta has received various awards for her work and her study projects  have, among other things, received grants from the Rannís Technology Development Fund.
