With culture and psychology as his main interests, Vigdís Vala decided to establish the Bakkastofa educational and cultural center with her parents.

She participates in cultural programs, composes her own songs and lyrics but also performs songs by her father Valgeir, alone and with him.

Vigdís Vala will complete her BS degree in psychology at the University of Iceland this spring. On that basis, she works on her mother's Nemanet innovation project. In addition to teaching, Vigdís Vala mainly conducts research and processing the reactions of students who use Nemanet in their study work.

Vigdís Vala has operated bands and composed songs and lyrics from the age of 17, but has also sung songs by her father on the album Fuglakantata  and radio recordings. These include "Mynd til Lára" which was published in 2014,
Valgeir's song and poem written for Fjallkonuávarpið in Austurvellir on 17 June.
